Central American Border Management Reform

Pillar II

Reduce barriers to trade and investment in the region.

Regional (Central America) and US Department of Commerce and Department of Homeland Security (Customs and Border Protection Agency)

This project has facilitated the identification of the main limitations that exist in customs procedures in the region, provided training sessions, and helped to create public-private working groups that get together on a regular basis in order to implement necessary reforms, particularly in Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Honduras. This includes workshops held in the countries themselves as well as visits to ports in the U.S.
